Ty Tan (Class 8/9) had an amazing time on their Outdoor Craft Camp at Coed Hills Rural Arts Space. Students took part in greenwood turning, basket weaving and metal work workshops led by expert craftspeople, with each accomplishing three pieces of work to take home by the end of the week.

The week offered plenty of opportunities to connect with nature, the elements and with each other. They took turns to cook for each other on an open fire, played social and team-building games, relaxed with yoga, walks and downtime soaking up the beautiful setting.

Coed Hills is a unique, off grid sustainable community just outside Cardiff. The on-site residents still work the land using ancestral methods and manage the 180 acres of unspoilt ancient Woodland, man-made lakes and beautiful summer meadows with elevated coastal views. Coed has been the leading centre for low impact living in Wales since it was established in 1997. It has hosted many international events including the UK Permaculture Convergence, and has been internationally identified as a place for those who want to embrace an off grid way of living in harmony with nature in tranquil and peaceful surroundings.
