Equality Statement
Cardiff Steiner School is committed to the development of cohesive communities both within our School’s physical boundaries and within our local community. We strive to work together with others to improve our children’s educational and well-being outcomes, and to eliminate any barriers to engagement faced by our staff, volunteers or family community.
We work within the guidelines of the Equality Act 2010 to ensure that our children, staff, volunteers and parents or carers are protected from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation on the grounds of their individual specific characteristics.
We also comply with the specifics of the Public Sector Equality Duty to:
- Advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between different groups.
- Publish information to show our compliance with the Equality Duty.
- Publish specific and measurable Equality Objectives at least every 4 years.
Our Equality Statement:
“Our school strives to be an inclusive school and community, actively seeking to remove the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder or exclude individual pupils, or groups of pupils, and any potential barriers to employment faced by individuals wishing to join our community.
Therefore, all our pupils, members of staff, volunteers and parents or carers are provided with opportunities to fulfil their potential whatever their sex, race, colour, gender or gender reassignment, ethnic or national origin, marital status, age, sexual orientation, class, appearance, size, disability or religious belief, or if they have caring responsibilities for a child or loved one.”
