Being personally acquainted with a number of Steiner students, I can say they come closer to realising their own potential than practically anyone I know.”

A True Partnership with Home
Our teachers understand that to really know a child you need to know the whole family. Parents and teachers work together to grow the teacher-parent relationship into a true partnership that supports your child at every stage. This starts with your Parent/ Teacher Interview, unique to Steiner Education. It’s an opportunity for you and the teacher to talk and get to know each other, and to build a comprehensive picture of your child and their development. You’ll also look in detail at the admission of your child, agreeing a start date and individual settling in process, an experience that is different for each child. The teacher will be able to suggest things to make this process easier if it is an area of concern for you.
Throughout the year you share in your child’s progress through regular one-to-one contact with their teacher. Group parents’ evenings are a chance to share experiences from home and school and learn new things relevant to your child’s class and stage of development.
A Community School
At Cardiff Steiner School we model and foster a deep sense of community. Through close connections with their classmates and teachers, students develop trust, social skills and community awareness. Collaboration fosters the spirit of teamwork and achievement among classmates, and older students help the younger ones, who look up to and learn from them. Whether its helping the little ones get into outdoor clothes in Kindergarten, or building a playhouse for a younger class, mixed age relationship-building nurtures a sense of connection, support and responsibility within the community. Our children respect and care for each other, the School and the world around them, and feel happy and secure in the atmosphere of an extended family.
A Whole School Education
We educate children for the whole of their childhood from age 3 to 18. With the school located on one small campus, the transition between early years, primary and secondary education is seamless. Cardiff Steiner School will always be deliberately small – a human-scale, community school in the heart of the city.
